  • Rogate celebrates 25 years of service from its parish priest
    May 20 2025

    The parishioners of Rogate, Terwick, Trotton and Chithurst marked a quarter century of service from their local rector with a church service on Saturday.

    Around 200 people attended the event in St Bartholomew's church. Former Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams gave an address at the service.

    The Reverend Edward Doyle was installed as the parish priest in 2000. He hails from South West Wales and has become a well-known and highly respected figure in the Rogate area.

    Stephen Martin attended the event for Shine Radio.

  • Petersfield Bike Buddies ride again - in groups

    The Petersfield Bike Buddies are quite a sight in fluorescent gear leaving the Town Square and down Sheep Street for Tuesday's 25 miler!

    They offer cycling in a group, with a leader and a back stop, so it's safe and good for your health.

    Mike Waddington spoke to today's Route Leader Chris and new member Jeremy, about why cycling is good for you, why it's safe and working with others to improve the cycling infrastructure.

    A first visit to Petersfield Cricket Club where the Mens first XI take on Netley https://www.petersfieldcricket.club/ and build on their first win from last week. We learn about the club's duck board where each player tries to avoid a visit to the duckpond. Kevin and Mrs Q also make a trip to Southampton to watch the Rams women's football side take on Millbrook in a game that could see them crowned as league champions and seal promotion https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ .
