 The Palkhi Festival in 2025 marks the annual pilgrimage of "Warkaris" to Pandharpur, honoring Lord Vitthal. Starting mid-June (June 18th for Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi from Dehu and June 19th for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi from Alandi), millions embark on a 20-22 day walking journey, carrying the revered "padukas" (sacred sandals) of the saints in elaborately decorated palanquins.
This centuries-old tradition is a vibrant display of faith, devotion, and Maharashtrian culture. Warkaris sing devotional hymns ("abhangas"), dance with fervor, and experience profound spiritual unity.
