It got a little scary late, but the New York Mets hung on to get back in the win column defeating the D-backs 5-4 in the opener.

A pair of home runs from Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor fueled the Mets offensively and then they had to hold on. It was a less than ideal season debut for Dedniel Nunez who helped fuel an Arizona rally in the 8th, but Edwin Diaz locked things down in the 9th to help the Mets avoid a three-game losing streak.
