  • ICE Raids: Balancing Mental Health & Parenting During Chaos with Dr. Sarah Oreck
    Jun 13 2025

In this episode of Nightclubs To Nightfeeds, we sit down with Dr. Sarah Orek, a reproductive psychiatrist, to talk about how today’s sociopolitical climate is affecting our mental health—especially for Latina moms and immigrant communities.

We get real about the emotional toll it takes to stay informed and engaged, while also trying to care for ourselves and our families. Dr. Orek shares helpful tips like setting limits around social media, finding trustworthy and diverse news sources, and using grounding techniques to manage anxiety.

We also talk about the importance of leaning on our communities, speaking honestly about what we’re feeling, and pushing back against the idea that this level of stress is just “normal.” Therapy, mutual support, and staying connected all come up as key ways to keep going—not just for ourselves, but for the people around us too.

This one’s about holding space for both action and rest, and remembering that we’re not alone in any of it.

  • Episode 15: Planning a 1st Birthday: Cost & Expectations
    Jun 3 2025

The quince episode is here! From ballgowns to bibs, this week we're talking about the emotional rollercoaster of planning your baby’s 1st birthday—and reflecting on how our own milestones, like quinceañeras, shape the way we celebrate now. Whether you're the mom who wants to DIY every detail or you're wondering if pizza and paper plates will do the trick, this episode is for you. We’re sharing our own 1st birthday emotions, what surprised us about the planning process, how we approached the budget (and where we’d do things differently), and whether or not we think a second birthday party is even necessary. Plus, we get into the guest list—because yes, even baby parties come with politics—and wrap up with the honest advice we’d give any mom planning her little one’s big day. So grab a drink (milk or mimosa, we don’t judge) and join us for a heart-filled, hilarious look at what it really means to celebrate that first trip around the sun.
