  • Why Join a Sober Softball League?
    Feb 13 2024
From parents to retirees to college students, team sports has been proven to help people in addiction recovery stay sober, get healthier, and connect with their community in a meaningful way.

So, at the peer-led Turning Point Recovery Center in Walpole, MA, we set up a summer softball team!

Every Sunday, dozens of members of TPRC in Walpole get together to play other amateur teams from local recovery centers. Some come to watch and cheer on their friends, and some families bring their kids along, allowing for deeper conversations at home about addiction and recovery.

This episode, host Brit Smith goes out on the field to chat with members who take part in the recovery center's softball co-ed league each year.

Hear from the athletes, their families, and their cheerleaders in the stands about how participating in team sports helps them to stay sober.
