  • Monday Morning Moments Podcast: The Path To Peace: Overcoming Your Enemy
    Jul 7 2025
You have an enemy, and it's not who you think it is. Many times, we see other people as the enemy. We see them as the person who annoys us or the person who is stealing our joy. We see them as the cause of our conflict and struggle. And while it is true that other people may be annoying you and causing major league "trouble" for you, we have to understand that there is a another enemy who is working behind the scenes to come against you.As a part of living in a broken and imperfect world, there is a an enemy who is waging a spiritual battle for your soul, your purpose, and your impact. This enemy wants to steal your joy, kill your purpose, and destroy your impact. Yet, we have a Savior and a Good Shepherd who came to protect us, provide for us, and position us to live out our purpose all for the glory of God.This is another episode in our series entitled: "The Path To Peace." In today's Monday Morning Moments podcast, I share what Jesus said in John 10:10 about this enemy, what the enemy is trying to do, and how we can find peace in Jesus. Show Notes:John 10:10 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (ESV)Steal Your JoyUse or create moments that discourage and defeat you and keep you from having joy in the moment.Focus our attention on everything that is going wrong or could go wrong distracting us from the joy we can have in our lives.Kill Your PurposeLie to you and tell you that you don't have a purpose.Point to your mistakes and say that given your past, you could never have a purpose or platform to make a differenceDestroy Your ImpactLeverage regret and shame over past momentsCreate roadblocks and cause us to focus on the apparent lack of momentum in our lives toward a goal to try and keeping us from continuing to move forward through these moments.Work in and through other people to try and limit our effectiveness.Leverage regret and shame over past momentsWe have to realize that there is a spiritual warfare going on all around us. In fact, Paul tells us this in Ephesians 6:12, which says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." • Monday Morning Moments Podcast: Overcoming Fear
    Jun 30 2025
Have you ever experienced a challenge or difficulty in your life? A circumstance so bad you didn't know how you were going to make it through? Fear, doubt, and deep anxiety can creep into our lives causing us to stop, stumble, and/or steer away from the path to peace. This is another episode in our series entitled "The Path to Peace," based on an upcoming book project I am working on entitled The Path to Peace: 10 Verses to Develop Faith Over Fear. In this podcast episode of Monday Morning Moments, I share a verse that gives us the proper perspective and the right response to have peace in any moment...including the valley moments in our life. Show Notes:In chapter 16 of the Gospel of John in the Bible, Jesus communicates a bunch of things to His disciples...mainly that He will be leaving them and why this is a good thing. They are confused about this and wonder how this could ever be a good thing. They also don't understand how the "Helper" that Jesus promises could ever be better than having Jesus in the flesh with them. At the end of chapter 16, Jesus says these words:“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)Importance of a Proper Perspective and the Right ResponseA proper perspective about a situation and the right response can help us move through challenging moments, discover the path to peace, and realize growth in the process and successful and impactful outcomes. The path to peace will be filled with trouble; yet, we can experience peace in the process because of what Jesus did on the cross and what He offers us in any moment. It's helpful to know that there will be challenges so we are not caught off guard at any moment (Perspective). And it's even better to know that we have someone who can help us conquer any fear along the way (The Powerful Response)! • Monday Morning Moments Podcast: Fear Not!
    Jun 23 2025
This is the second episode in our series entitled "The Path to Peace." In this podcast episode of Monday Morning Moments, I share one of my top 5 verses in the Bible! It's a command with a promise and a truth that has carried me through many moments in my life. I pray it encourages you today. Show Notes:Isaiah 41:10"fear not, for I am with you;be not dismayed, for I am your God;I will strengthen you, I will help you,I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."It's the voice of God speaking through the prophet Isaiah commanding us not to be afraid. I have always love the definitive declaration that this verse begins. God doesn't just say "Don't Worry." He exclaims "Fear Not!" and "Be Not Dismayed!" (Emphasis added). These are commands and they represent postures, not just occasional gestures. And then He gives us the reasons why we should not fear any circumstance in our life:- Because He is with us.- Because He will strengthen us.- Because He will uphold us with His righteous right hand. The power of this verse is found not in the words of the command but in the presence of the One who is with us in and through every moment. The path to peace is often filled with winding roads and challenging circumstances, but God is present helping us navigate this road to find true peace and purpose. Whatever He is calling you to do today, know that you don't have to fear...because He is with you in every step of your journey. And He can truly help you make the most of your moments!
