Chris grew up in the gritty neighborhoods of Boston, raised in the shadow of a father known more for his criminal past of armed robbery than for his family presence. His father, a hardened man, spent years behind bars for armed robbery. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, Chris chose a path into law enforcement, beginning his career as a Jail Officer One (JO-1). With grit and determination, he climbed the ranks to become a Building OIC Officer in Charge with the rank of Lieutenant.

Assigned to one of the most volatile sections of the maximum security jail in Boston, Massachusetts, Chris earned respect as the officer in charge—firm, fair, and unflinching when asked to do the tough jobs. Over the years, he has witnessed the darkest facets of human behavior: brutal assaults, self-destruction, and suicide. He’s faced some of the toughest inmates in the country and emerged with scars—some visible, most not. Through it all, Chris remains a survivor, shaped but not broken by the violence around him.

Billy Coleman's story is a powerful testament to resilience and redemption. After spending over 25 years in various correctional facilities, his journey from a habitual bank robber to someone who has turned his life around is inspiring. Growing up in South Boston, Massachusetts, he faced numerous challenges that ultimately led him to a life of crime.

However, during his time in incarceration, Billy sought to redefine himself. He embraced opportunities for personal growth, education, and self-reflection. Today, he advocates for others who have faced similar struggles, emphasizing the importance of second chances and the possibility of change, no matter one’s past.

His experiences provide valuable insights into the complexities of the criminal justice system and the power of perseverance.
