The Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners battled it out in an intense contest that ended in a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Tigers in extra innings at Comerica Park. Kerry Carpenter tied the game at 2 in the 8th with a two-run home run. Detroit initially struggled to put runs on the board, held scoreless through the first seven innings due to a stellar pitching performance by Seattle's Bryan Woo, who pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits and striking out six. The Mariners were the first to score with a single by Jorge Polanco and another RBI hit by Julio Rodriguez bringing in two runs. Detroit Tigers rallied in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run homer by Kerry Carpenter, which tied the game at 2-2. Detroit's bullpen held firm, striking out 11 batters and allowing only two earned runs over ten innings. The game-winning moment came in the bottom of the 10th when Akil Baddoo doubled to center, allowing Parker Meadows to score and securing the Tigers' victory. With this hard-fought win, the Tigers improve their record to 58-63 for the season.
