The Detroit Tigers edged out the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 at Comerica Park. Spencer Torkelson provided the offensive spark for the Tigers, going 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBIs in the second inning, scoring Jace Jung. The Tigers added another run in the third inning thanks to Kerry Carpenter's RBI single. On the mound, Mason Englert, Kenta Maeda, and Beau Brieske combined to hold the Angels at bay, with Maeda delivering 4.1 innings, allowing just two unearned runs while striking out five. Mickey Moniak was a standout for the Angels, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Tigers' pitching. Jason Foley secured the final outs, keeping the Angels scoreless in the ninth to seal the victory. The Tigers move to 67-66 for the season, while the Angels drop to 54-78.
