On Wednesday night in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, two second-round series continued with Game 2 matchups, and another series kicked off with Game 1:

Eastern Conference:

• The Toronto Maple Leafs edged out the Florida Panthers 4-3. Mitch Marner broke a third-period tie for the Maple Leafs, who now hold a 2-0 series lead. Joseph Woll made his first start of the playoffs for Toronto, making 25 saves.

Western Conference:

• The Dallas Stars defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in Game 1 of their second-round series. Mikko Rantanen scored a natural hat trick in the second period for the Stars.

• Maple Leafs Take Control: Toronto secured another win at home to take a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Panthers.
• Stars' Rantanen Explodes: Rantanen's natural hat trick powered Dallas to a Game 1 victory in a tight matchup against Winnipeg.
