This is the first episode in our mini unsolved murders series. Have you heard of The Alphabet murders? In episode 14 the guys get into the assaults and murders of several young women in 2003 and 2019 by two different young men, each viciously killing for what seems like no reason. The world considered both of these young murderers attractive men, and the phenomenon of attention that surrounded one of them during his trial and while in prison was absurd. The Bystander Effect is a psychologically curious happening that has occurred throughout history and still today when people witnessing an emergency, crime, or person being harmed or in distress, do nothing to help or to help stop it. There are many documented occurrences where bystanders could have helped, but did not. One of the more famous cases is a murder that took place in 1964 in Queens, New York. The victim was young woman named Kitty Genovese. Here is the story of her murder.
