Homeschool preschool has been a saga for us. I have bought the expensive curriculum for the first 5 kids, and then promptly kicked myself because I spent so much money on something that was frustrating for everyone. You would think that I would learn my lesson. I finally did for number 6, and I didn’t buy any curriculum. I did review Sonlight’s preschool curriculum, and I thought it was the best homeschool preschool curriculum we’ve used.

There was a time that I was terrified of teaching kindergarten. It didn’t matter how good the homeschool curriculum for kindergarten was, I just didn’t want to do it.

It was much easier to send the kids to school for kindergarten and first grade. Then once they had the basics down, I would bring them home and homeschool them. Then I didn’t need to worry about finding the best homeschool curriculum for kindergarten.

Just think positive thoughts about the terrible situation you are in and everything will be ok. That is typically the promise made from those who promote the idea of the power of positive thinking. But are we allowed to just have a bad day?

As a busy work from home mom and homeschool mom, it often feels like you can never have a bad day. The kids are watching us. We have clients to juggle. We need to keep up the façade of everything being under control. There are no chinks in our super-mom armor. Right?

If you do have a bad day, then you aren’t thinking positively enough. Or you experience the guilt that you should have more control over your situation. Is it possible to just give ourselves permission to have a crappy day.
