  • Sunday Service: The Promise of the Father (Welcoming the Presence) - Pastor Jeff Young
    Jul 21 2025

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience from salvation, bringing supernatural power (dunamis) to believers for ministry and witness. While we receive the Holy Spirit at salvation, the baptism is a separate empowerment promised by Jesus to all believers. Biblical examples include John the Baptist's family, Jesus Himself, and the disciples at Pentecost who were transformed from fearful followers to bold witnesses. This baptism brings boldness, spiritual gifts, prophetic insight, supernatural witnessing ability, and deeper intimacy with God. It's a promise for everyone—you, your children, those far away, and all who are called by God.

  • Sunday Service: The Promise of the Father (Back to the Beginning) - Pastor Jeff Young
    Jul 13 2025

In this sermon, Pastor Jeff Young explores the concept of the baptism of the Holy Spirit as part of God's original plan for humanity. He traces the Holy Spirit's role from Genesis through Revelation, explaining how sin separated humans from God's presence in the Garden of Eden, creating a need for restoration. The sermon outlines God's progressive plan to restore His presence with His people - from the law and tabernacle in the Old Testament to the new covenant promised in Jeremiah 31 and fulfilled through Jesus Christ's sacrifice, which made it possible for the Holy Spirit to dwell within believers again.

  • Sunday Service: The Promise of the Father (What He Does) - Pastor Bob Leahey
    Jul 7 2025

The Holy Spirit is a person with whom we can relate, not just a power to be controlled. He convicts the world of sin (primarily unbelief), righteousness, and judgment—always with love and gentleness, never condemnation. For believers, the Spirit convicts of specific sins to shape us more like Jesus through personal conviction, community accountability, and transparent relationships. Following Jesus comes with costs—social, financial, time, and misunderstanding—but the Holy Spirit helps prepare us for these challenges. When we respond to His conviction and bring our struggles into the light, we find freedom rather than bondage.
