  • Episode #213: Good-Bye Anxiety, Depression, Addiction & PTSD: The Life-Changing Science Of Dual-Brain Psychology With Dr. Fredric Schiffer
    May 29 2025

    Hey friends,

This was recorded in March and it has taken me some time to get this episode published. I am so honored to have Dr. Schiffer as a guest.

    His BIO:

As a sought after speaker, best-selling author, psychiatrist and part-time assistant professor at Harvard, Dr. Fredric Schiffer is on a mission to

help people understand their anxiety, addiction and trauma and to offer them a proven method to improve their wellbeing.

Dr Schiffer has a wealth of experience in psychiatry. He has been studying the relationship between past traumas, cerebral laterality, and

depression and anxiety. He has tremendous knowledge of Dual-Brain Psychology techniques.

All problems come out of early traumas and very often it’s trauma that has not been recognized. As the founder of Dr. Schiffer’s Dual-Brain

PsychologyTM, he has discovered a technique to treat the troubled mind using something as unlikely as a piece of junk mail. It’s detailed in his

forthcoming book, Goodbye Anxiety, Depression, Addiction & PTSD: The Life-Changing Science of Dual-Brain Psychology.

His book takes an in-depth look at the science behind Dual-Brain Psychology while offering practical tips and tools to try it for yourself. His

book also shares the many triumphs of patients who have had their lives forever changed by his work.

Dr. Fredric Schiffer has the path to treating past trauma and eliminating drug, alcohol and gambling cravings which most people suffer from for life.

    And other info:

Through his groundbreaking work as founder of the Dual-Brain Psychology Institute, he has discovered that the brain is made up of two minds which are competing for dominance. When the immature and troubled half of the brain is treated, Dual-Brain Psychology techniques can successfully curb anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction, and improve psychological wellbeing.

Dr. Schiffer intends to provide listeners with knowledge about how Dual-Brain Psychology offers a deep understanding of one’s psychological issues and can become the blueprint to help people work through past traumas that are causing anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction.

How can simply covering your eyes reduce anxiety and depression?

What got you interested in split brain studies?

How do you think your work will revolutionise the way doctors treat trauma?

How do I know which side of my brain is most dominant?

What makes dual-brain psychotherapy more effective than other forms of psychotherapy?

  • Episode #210: Has Medicine Lost Its Mind With Dr. Robert C. Smith
    Feb 24 2025

    Episode #210. Hey friends,

Welcome back to a special episode. Dr. Robert C. Smith has been helping people for many years and in his upcoming book he has a lot to say about the healthcare system in America. I was so honored to speak with him about his wisdom and insights into why many doctors are not trained in how to help those with mental health challenges. We get into what the problem is and some ideas on how we can fix it.

    Dr. Robert C. Smith BIO:

Robert C. Smith, MD, MACP is a University Distinguished Professor and a Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry Emeritus at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA. With many publications, awards, and strong grant support, he has been involved in teaching and research in patient-centered communication and in primary care mental health since 1985.

He and his colleagues defined the first evidence-based patient-centered interview, now

published in a popular interviewing textbook, Smith’s Patient-Centered Interviewing: An Evidence-Based Method (4th edition, McGraw Hill, 2018). It is used in medical, nursing, and other health care schools in the USA and abroad for teaching interviewing and the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Smith’s group also identified the first evidence-based method, the Mental Health Care Model, to guide primary care clinicians in managing mental health and substance use problems. Essentials of Psychiatry in Primary Care: Behavioral Health in the Medical Setting (McGraw Hill 2019)resulted and is widely used to teach primary care mental health. Dr. Smith’s next book is for the public: Has Medicine Lost Its Mind? will be published by

Prometheus Books in March 2025. It addresses the poor state of mental health care in the US, why it occurred, what needs to be done, and how to accomplish this politically. Details are available on his website: https://www.robertcsmithmd.com/
