Star witnesses on the stand in two high profile court cases: in Paris Kim Kardashian gave emotional testimony about how she feared for her life when she was robbed inside her hotel room. While in New York at Sean Diddy Combs' sex trafficking trial, his now pregnant ex-girlfriend talked about the abuse she says she suffered in their relationship. Combs has pled not guilty to all charges. And now the court drama playing out in Paris where Kim Kardashian was on the stand testifying she thought she was going to die when a group of men broke into her hotel room, tied her up and stole 10 million dollars of her jewelry. Plus, out in Los Angeles, Lyle and Erik Menendez were back in court virtually for a resentencing hearing. Currently serving life sentences for murdering their parents, attorneys for the pair will argue after 30 years, they are rehabilitated, and they should be resentenced -and ultimately freed. The district attorney has said they have not accepted full responsibility for their crimes. Today Erik Menendez’s wife Tammy and their daughter Talia were on hand for support. A judge will hear arguments today and tomorrow before reaching a decision if the brothers will be resentenced. And President Trump is on his first international trip of his second term. He's in Saudi Arabia -- and much of the commentary is about that gift of a free plane from the Qatari’s. There is a very strong chorus saying it's a gift the president ought to turn down. Opening arguments in the trial of Hip-Hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs. He's accused of running a criminal enterprise to coerce women into having sex. 8 men and 4 women will hear the evidence and so will members of the Combs family. They were out in full force as prosecutors laid out their case. And former NFL coach Bill Belichick was there as his much younger girlfriend competed for Miss Maine USA. She didn't win the title and her disappointment was all over her face. Plus, President Trump's plan to accept a plane from Qatar to use as the new Air Force One is being widely criticized by both Democrats 'and' Republicans. The constitution prohibits presidents from receiving gifts from foreign entities - and The White House says they are working out the legal details. Mr. Trump says he would be 'stupid’ to turn down a free plane. And more than eight years ago Kim Kardashian was robbed inside her Paris hotel room. 10 million dollars worth of her jewelry was stolen. At long last -- the men suspected in the heist are going on trial. The man now known as Pope Leo has for years been known as 'Father Bob,' - in fact, that's always been how he preferred to be addressed. It's just one of ten things you might not know about the new Pope. And a dramatic victim impact statement delivered in court, but the person speaking is dead-- killed in a deadly road rage act of violence. In what's believed to be a first in trial history, the judge gave the family permission to use A.I. technology so the slain man could speak directly to his killer. Plus, with the selection of a jury in the Sean Diddy Combs case almost complete, prosecutors are preparing for opening arguments on Monday -- but they admit there's a snag. One of their key witnesses against the rapper appears to have gone missing. Diddy has pled not guilty. This comes as we learn that Combs' ex-girlfriend, who was seen on video being assaulted by the rapper, is pregnant. And if you're traveling to the United States, you will probably have your pick of plane seats. In what many say is reaction to tariffs and the political climate, there has been a huge drop in recent weeks in travel to the U.S. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The new pope is American! For the first time ever, a cardinal who was born in the United States has just been appointed the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected to lead the worlds 1.4 billion Catholics and he has chosen as his papal name, Leo. The reaction to his selection was electric, here in the USA, and especially in the square outside St Peters. And it's standard procedure - when a big game ends the spectators leave...but some Knicks fans were so stoked over their team's phenomenal comeback in the second game of the playoffs last night in Boston, they wouldn't go home - leading to a very overwhelmed worker at the arena. Plus, the national retail association says the average American spends 259 dollars on Mother's Day and a lot of that is on flowers. However, this year flowers might be more expensive due to the tariffs on imported goods. And Vatican City isn't the only place a new pope has been named! If you're travelling domestically by air, check your driver’s license. If it doesn’t have a special symbol indicating that it is a Real I.D., you'll need your passport to get on the plane. If you don’t have either document, you may be facing some trouble getting on board flight without one. And testimony continues in the Karen Read trial after jurors are getting an earful when they listened to voice mail messages the defendant left for her Boston cop boyfriend in the hours before he was found dead. A witness testified Read called him at least 50 times. Plus, a tragic end for a father and son who were flying in their kit-built plane when they lost control, and it crashed into a house. The plane's passengers were killed. Now the homeowner says he has to live somewhere else for at least a year because of the damage. And video of Super Bowl winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes and some buddies tooling around Miami in a cart is causing concern. One guy is standing on the back. It comes just days after football legend John Elway’s friend and agent died in a golf cart accident. A lot of people have gates to keep their property secure, but that didn’t stop a man from barreling through the gate at Jennifer Aniston’s house. After crashing the gate, Aniston’s private security guard held the driver until cops could make an arrest. And how is it possible that a pair of Pit Bulls responsible for killing a dog in January would be in a position to attack another dog? A Chihuahua named Penny was terribly injured when the same dogs attacked her. Now, an entire neighborhood is asking that the owners of the vicious dogs be held responsible. Plus, it's the Oscars of the fashion world and last night stars from Hollywood, the music, and sports worlds all came together for the annual Met Ball. But the queen of the evening was without a doubt 81-year-old Diana Ross...who ruled the night in an 18-foot train. And Good Morning America's Robin Roberts is hosting a new true crime series on Hulu and she's telling what it’s all about. It was a concert for the record books... more than two million people gathered for a free concert in Rio given by Lady Gaga. You expect security to be tight for an event like this and it was - for good reason. Today we're learning more about how concert officials neutralized a bomb threat that could have ended in disaster. And ordinarily rapper Sean Diddy Combs would be attending the annual Met Costume Gala this evening. Instead, he's in court for day one of his federal trial on sex trafficking charges. Plus, even supporters of President Trump say a meme he sent out was too far. Over the weekend, the president posted an image of himself as Pope, joking that he'd like to be Pope. Coming as the college of cardinals is about to meet in its secret conclave to select the next pontiff, there is an uproar over what many call a tasteless post. And now a reminder that Wednesday is the deadline to get your Real ID driver's license. You'll need it to travel domestically by plane. And fair warning: there are long lines at DMVs across the country - so prepare to wait.
