Acerca de esta escucha
Thanks to Gretchen Devault for taking the time to put together this wonderful one hour set of music for The Eardrum Buzz Radio Fifth Anniversary.
The Blue Herons are Andy Jossi (The Churchhill Garden, The Serpent Garden) and Gretchen DeVault (The Icicles, The Francine Odysseys, Voluptuous Panic, Hero No Hero). The jangle pop duo formed in late 2020 and have since released multiple singles and a full-length album in 2024 and is set to release another full-length album in 2026.
The Blue Herons started as a side project for Jossi. After building a following with his shoegaze band The Churchhill Garden, he wanted a separate outlet for his jangle pop songs. The Blue Herons featured guest vocalists and musicians including Krissy Vanderwoude (The Churchhill Garden, Whimsical), Marty Willson Piper (The Church, All About Eve), Hideka, and Thierry Haliniak. While releasing music under The Blue Herons name and looking for the right vocal partner, Jossi connected with DeVault.
DeVault has been active in the indie pop and dream pop scene for years. She led The Icicles through several albums and secured licensing deals with Target and Motorola in the early 2000s. In 2013, she formed the transoceanic shoegaze duo Voluptuous Panic with Brian Bowe. After moving to LA in 2016, she returned to her indie pop background and formed The Francine Odysseys releasing two EPs and a single. DeVault is also part of Hero No Hero with Ken Aki, which released an EP in 2020 and a full-length album in 2024.
