On this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m tackling one of the most common phrases I hear in health and fitness, “I know what to do, I just need to do it.” Maybe you’ve said it yourself. The truth is, knowing the steps and actually being able to stick with them are two very different things. Without a solid foundation built around your preferences, any plan you try to follow becomes something you keep turning on and off, leaving you stuck in that exhausting start-and-stop cycle.

I talk about why we don’t live in a perfect lab where nutrition and exercise are just checklists. We’re humans with thoughts, feelings, schedules, and lives. Trying to force yourself into someone else’s plan, even if it’s the so-called “optimal” way to eat or train, is usually a recipe for burnout. You might be able to hold on for a few weeks, months, or even a year, but eventually the bottom falls out if you hate what you’re doing.

We explore why consistency isn’t just about discipline. It’s about building your forever active lifestyle around things you enjoy. I share how the highest form of discipline is actually self-love, because all the achievements in the world mean nothing if you’re still at war with yourself in your own mind.

I challenge the idea that we have to keep proving ourselves by suffering through programs we hate or competing in imaginary rivalries with people who might not even know we exist. Instead, I want you to be at peace with yourself while working toward your goals. That’s the heart of the inside/out approach.

If you’re ready to start building your forever active lifestyle in a way that actually works for you, check out all the links above. Whether you want to explore this on your own or work together, I’m here to help you figure out how to make fitness fit your life.
