On the Yankee radar, we have the Sunday Lineup Shifts and Player Highlights. Benjamin Rice Gets Sunday Off. Catcher Benjamin Rice will sit out the Yankees' series finale against the Mets. After appearing in three of the last four matchups and posting a 4-for-15 line with two doubles and two RBI, Rice takes a breather on Sunday. Yankees news confirms Austin Wells gets the nod behind the plate, with Paul Goldschmidt at first base. Chisholm’s Shoulder Injury Lingers. Injury update: Jasrado Chisholm, sidelined for Sunday’s game, revealed he’s been managing a shoulder issue for about three weeks. The discomfort affects his throwing more than his swing, contributing to five errors in his last 10 appearances. Oswald Peraza will cover third base duties today. Austin Wells Breaks Homerless Streak. In Saturday’s contest, Austin Wells homer gave the Yankees a spark. The catcher launched a solo shot to right in the third inning, breaking a 15-game drought. Despite taking a foul tip to the mask earlier in the game, Wells stayed in and is back in action Sunday. Chisholm's 15th Homer Adds to Power Surge. Despite recent defensive struggles, Jasrado Chisholm stats show he's heating up offensively. His 387-foot solo homer Saturday was his fifth long ball in 10 games. The veteran now boasts 15 homers, 38 RBI, and 10 steals in just 59 games. Anthony Volpe Tries to Snap Cold Streak. Shortstop Anthony Volpe crushed his 10th home run of the season in Saturday’s loss. The 408-foot blast marked only his second homer in 27 games, but it could ignite a turnaround during this extended MLB scores slump. Carlos Rodón Tagged by Mets’ Offense. Carlos Rodón struggles continued on Saturday as he surrendered seven runs (six earned) over five innings. A grand slam in the first and a two-run homer in the fifth ballooned his ERA over his last six starts to 5.34. The lefty looks to bounce back against the Cubs next week.
