 Houston is buzzing with energy this July 4th weekend, and if you’re in search of fun, fireworks, music, and food, this is the place to be. Independence Day falls on Friday this year, and 365 Things to Do in Houston reports that more than 35 city, community, and local celebrations are lighting up the skies and streets. The can’t-miss Freedom Over Texas Fireworks Show is returning to Downtown Houston, filling the sky above Eleanor Tinsley Park and Buffalo Bayou with a fireworks finale around 9:30 PM. Find a spot along Memorial Drive or Allen Parkway for some of the best free views.

For families, the Children’s Museum Houston invites everyone to Kidpendence Day, where kids can enjoy patriotic crafts and hands-on activities. Meanwhile, The Rustic Downtown hosts Honkytonk Hooligans for a lively night of Texas country starting at 9:30 PM. Over in Midtown, Social Beer Garden will dazzle with a free burlesque show late Friday night for those seeking grown-up fun.

Saturday morning, Discovery Green offers free Hatha Yoga at 9 AM, and if you’re a pickleball enthusiast, check out the July Jams & Pickleball Slams at The San Luis Resort in Galveston. Saturday afternoon, join the DJ Screw Day festivities at George R. Brown Convention Center honoring the legendary Houston DJ.
