  • E102. The Finding in the Temple
    May 23 2025

Jesus, at the age of twelve, accompanies Mary and Joseph, and a large group of their relatives and friends to Jerusalem on pilgrimage for Passover. On the day of their return, Jesus lingered, staying in the Temple, but his parents thought that he was among their group when he was not. Mary and Joseph headed back home and after a day of travel realised Jesus was missing, so they returned to Jerusalem, finding the boy three days later. He was found in the Temple in discussion with the elders, listening to them and asking them questions. Enjoy this ENCORE Presentation!

  • LITERATURE 1.1 Quest of the Historical Jesus
    May 21 2025

Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) gives us one of the first historical treatments of the life of Jesus in his pioneering book (1906) that reviews all prior work on the question of the "historical Jesus" and points out how Jesus of Nazareth's image has changed with the times—while offering his own synopsis and interpretation in this seminal work of biblical criticism.

I'm 6 episodes in and so far it's just a cold list of facts and events. It sounds like the narrator is reading a wiki page on the bible. They are often repeating the same things a few times with different words. they are not offering any personal interpretation or point of view. The flat, obsessive tone becomes unpleasant after a while. also there are two minutes of commercials every five minutes of content

Is the author reading a wiki or something?
