"But actually, it's morally reprehensible. I had somebody in the past, actually, I've run into many people that do this, that will claim this sort of thinking and will say, I'm not a liar, or I don't lie, or I, you know, whatever the claim is, generally speaking, right? And the way they get around this are things like leaving things open to interpretation."

"And like, all of the questions around empathy and humans and AI and relationships and to, and like, we haven't even figured out some of these things on all of these different levels, and yet we are like, full steam ahead. How fast can we get there? And I'm like, technology is amazing, but I just wish we would slow it down and do it more intentionally, and that is just not going to happen."

  • @SeekingPlumb | "Empathy for all is not empathy." 🤔

"So then, when I looked back at the AI, who is coded to express empathy, I'm thinking empathy for all is not really empathy, right? From that perspective. But then I was like, well, let's flip it on its head and look at humans. If humans showed empathy for all, we would say that is empathy, right? Because choice. But if we're showing it to all, is there really a choice?"

"And my knee jerk response was like, well, I think when we first gained access to time travel, we would be addressing the big things, right? Or we'd want to anyway. And then, you know, the more comfortable we became with it, we would address the little things. But then I was thinking about it some more, and I was like, who am I kidding? This would not be accessible for all."

"So although I could interpret it in many ways, I'm supposed to somehow pick out the right interpretation and then do the same thing for each of the different answers, and then somehow pick the right ones to fit together. And depending on how I interpreted the question, I could come up with a different answer. I would go to the teacher, and I'm like, well, I'm not sure what's meant by this. And they would always have the same answer."

  • @SeekingPlumb | "Magenta is not a real colour." What is it, really? 🤔

"But I'm curious of, like, if it's not magenta, if there's another way we can actually pick up what this is giving off this flower. So, for example, I wonder if there's. There probably is a device of some kind that can pick up the wavelength and frequency of colors. Maybe. Let's pretend there is. So if you were pointing it at this flower, like, what would it tell us?"

"So when you have a generation or more that's being brought up, that can identify their own emotions and in others and recognize pain and the toxicity of these things, and you're telling them, just get over it. Well, no wonder they're going to be having mental health difficulties. I'm not a parent, but I get sick and tired of things like this being blamed on parents. This is not parents fault, nor is it."

"And it would also be a great incentive, right, for anybody who's not moving things along at a good pace to decrease the carbon footprint and the damages that they're doing, then a hefty tax would incentivize people to do things more quickly and to focus on solutions rather than capitalism. But again, how do you enforce that? I don't think you can."
