    Jun 16 2025

Who is Minister for Magic? Who’s is Headmaster of Hogwarts? Is blood status STILL a controversial issue? And most importantly: are there any other NEW dark wizards on the rise? Today we’ll be answering all of that and MORE as we discuss the Wizarding World in modern times.

    Hey everyone,

Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re going to be discussing the Wizarding World in the modern era.

It’s been 27 prosperous years since Lord Voldemort made his final stand at the Battle of Hogwarts, finally meeting his end on May 2nd of 1998.

And since that time, the MUGGLE world has changed a whole lot. The Internet has become mainstream, smartphones are prolific, communication is instant and everything is online. And if we consider how much the MUGGLE world has develope...

  • Before You Boycott the New Harry Potter Show...
    Jun 13 2025

Lately, the Harry Potter world has been… a little chaotic.

Sure, there’s been plenty of exciting news — a brand new HBO series in the works, major casting announcements, and the promise of finally getting a longer, more detailed adaptation of the books.

But not all of the news has been met with open arms.

And one casting decision in particular — the choice for Snape — has been all over my news feed for months, seemingly sparking nonstop debate and dividing the fandom in a way I haven’t seen in years.

And here’s the thing: it’s not a standalone issue. People don’t have a problem with Essiedu as a person or as an actor, they have a problem with how HBO have chosen to conduct business..Advertising a show as a book-faithful, and then turning their back on this claim the second casting starts.

With filming just around the corner, today I’m breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly — and making the case for why this series may (or may not) be redeemable.

    Let’s dive in to it.

While other casting choices have sparked minor debates—such as the updated portrayal of Hermione Granger—Essiedu's selection as Snape has received disproportionately heated responses across all platforms. And now, a new rumor is throwing more fuel on the fire: that HBO may be preparing to recast Snape altogether.

  • Tom Felton IS BACK! (+Harry Potter TV Show Updates)
    Jun 8 2025

Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory.

A couple of weeks back it was reported that Tom Felton would be officially returning to the Wizarding World.

But despite the whispers and speculation, nothing concrete was ever confirmed. All we knew was that a familiar face was returning, and for most fans, that seemed like enough. However, in a recent development, we’ve now got some clarity on Tom Felton’s return to the magical world.

  • Why Didn't Voldemort Use a GUN to Kill Harry? - Harry Potter Theory
    Jun 7 2025

Voldemort was the most dangerous Dark wizard in history. Capable of splitting his soul, flying without a broom, and leading an army of Death Eaters that would kill on his command.

But one person he could never kill, no matter how powerful he seemed to get, was Harry.

Of course, this was largely circumstantial. Harry was protected — first by his mother’s sacrifice, and then by the blood wards at Privet Drive. Not to mention the twin wand cores, piece of Voldemort’s soul inside of Harry, and the fact that Voldemort used Harry's blood to rebuild his body.

They were, to some extent, inextricably tied to each other- and as the prophecy so aptly put it:

“either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives”

But if we consider for a second that every failed attempt at killing Harry was MAGICAL in nature, it does reveal a slightly more obvious solution: the NON magical alternatives.

  • Why Don’t Wizards Use Time Turners to Fix Everything? - Harry Potter Theory
    Jun 3 2025

In the wizarding world, few magical objects spark as many ‘what if’ debates as the Time-Turner. If it could be used to save both Buckbeak and Sirius, why didn’t anyone just spin it a little further? Why not go back and stop Cedric Diggory’s death? Or warn Lily and James before Voldemort arrived? Why not save Dumbledore, or even stop Voldemort’s rise altogether by sabotaging Tom Riddle’s past?

At a glance, it feels like the Time-Turner is the ultimate fix-it tool, a magical loophole that should’ve solved everything. But as always in the wizarding world, things aren’t that simple.

Today, we’ll be diving deep into why the Time-Turner wasn’t used to rewrite history, fix every tragedy, and (among other things) put a stop to Voldemort before his reign of terror could even begin.

    Let’s dive in to it.

  • James Potter Used a Love Potion on Lily - DARK Harry Potter Theory
    May 31 2025

This is going to be a bit of a world shatterer.

Wouldn’t it be a cruel and tragic twist if the one witch whose love was powerful enough to defeat Voldemort… Was herself the victim of a love potion? And that the purest act of love in the entire wizarding world came from someone who never truly understood her love for her own husband?

What if, beneath the surface of their famous love story, there lurked something much more…Sinister? What if James, desperate to win over the witch who repeatedly rejected him, resorted to the most drastic — and frankly, pathetic — of measures?

Join me today as we unpeel the difficult reality surrounding one of the Wizarding World’s most well-known love stories, as well as the far reaching implications it may have caused.

Don’t worry, I’ll cover arguments FOR and AGAINST.
