Jamie Smith taught us the proper marks to make when barbecuing chicken, and talked about recipes for barbecue sauce. Also there was some mention of a cupcake made of meatloaf and mashed potatoes, but that came from Rosemary.

Gary Shapiro had some interesting details about Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball, as well as his usual discussion of books he's read recently and authors he has interviewed.

Jeff Manke said crows are really smart. If you mistreat one they will remember your face. Ravens are not the same. He also said he made a recent trip to southern California where he went birding in eight counties, and saw 200 species, including one for the first time, the gull-billed tern. He described some quite fascinating imitation done by another species he saw, the zone-tailed hawk.
