We are born. We die. In between we watch a lot of films. And some of these films shape the people we are. This is a podcast about those films. (And a bit about death.)

Join comedian, actor, writer and swimmer Brett Goldstein and an extra special weekly guest as they go all the way into life and death by way of movies, to ultimately pick their Films To Be Buried With!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!

Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the powerful actor, producer and director JUSTIN HARTLEY!

Justin's been on the screen and stage for decades now and will hopefully be a face and voice you are well familiar with. But even if you're less aware of Justin, this is a fabulous ep for all as you get to hear so much about the process and indeed how he found roles and maintained them. From the old to the newer, it's an immense body of work but we also hear about such things as what it's actually like to join huge culturally important shows, being a part of long running classic series, the unique instinct that calls for 100+ takes, being cool like M J Fox, and how to dial in a body. All that and more on this week's awesome Films To Be Buried With!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With!

Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the glorious and great DAVID DASTMALCHIAN!

A really lovely, fun and extremely touching episode which contains multitudes. David's been putting in work for years and will very much be a face you'll recognise, if not a name you'll remember, and as always with these talks with Brett we hear so much of what makes the person who they are. In this case, not only do we hear about David's 23 years sober, 50 years of life, his religious upbringing, achieving tone of character via art and music, Z-movies, and past roles - we also hear about his personal life which in this case will require a trigger warning.

As David clearly states after going into his experience, help is available and can be found should you or a loved/cared-for one be in similar circumstances. The warning should be observed after the second ad-break here - hard to give an 'out' time as ad-breaks are unpredictable but if you want a clean sweep, give it like 10 minutes. Help lines are below in the links.

All that said, a lovely episode from someone with a lot of heart and soul. Enjoy!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! A REWIND CLASSIC!

Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with wonderful actor ADAM SCOTT!

This Rewind is from April 13th 2023, originally episode 243, which was a total delight and really cool glimpse at what makes Adam cinematically tick. Those who know Adam's work will not only know him from his more recent work in Severance, but his roles in Step Brothers, Parks & Recreation and Party Down – not to mention his extensive podcast history with Scott Aukerman including Comedy Bang Bang, U Talkin' U 2 2 Me, U Talkin' REM RE:ME, U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head - and so on - and yes the last three are all very real podcasts. Below is the original writeup:

    –––––––––––––––––––––––––

You may know Adam from his many many roles on so many of the shows you love, or from years of podcasting since the old days, or more immediately from the glorious Severance, but here's a perfect opportunity to get a listen to the person behind the roles. Hear about it all, from how he got into the whole thing, the points in the journey along the continuing path, and so much film goodness including some awesome bits that haven't been said before. You'll love it - enjoy!

I've been enjoying Brett Goldstein's performance in Ted Lasso and was intrigued by his podcast.

An extra thrill was hearing that Edgar Wright liked The Ruins, a horror movie I worked on!

Interesting people discussing interesting movies!

I love this podcast. Brett Goldstein is funny and kind and sooooooo interesting. plus he's Roy Kent! I discovered films that I've never heard of and rediscovered films I had forgotten about. Take a listen. You won't regret it.

Brilliant podcast with a lovely host

The Fall (2006). The scene with the pills and later with the monkey. Full on ugly, cathartic, sobbing, hyperventilating tears. I had never even heard the name Lee Pace, and now every time I see him play an elf king or a blue Ronan, I feel like he's being wasted. (And this coming from someone who loves elf kings and the MCU.)

Love this podcast. It's delightful in all the ways the Office is not.

The movie that made me sob cry...
