Jesus cursed the fig tree that had no fruit on it. We know there are spiritual fruits. In Matthew's account, He says not only can we do this, but we can speak to this mountain to be removed and cast into the sea if we have faith and believe when we pray. I think it's interesting He started talking about faith right after finding no fruit. The word faith in Hebrew and Greek actually mean "faithfulness." Faith isn't "I have faith God can do it." Faith, or faithfulness is "If this is a mountain I speak to, or a mountain I have to walk over, get over, and get to the other side of, God is still good." Some mountains you have to get over, get to the other side of, and then there's some you can speak to and they are removed. Either way, it requires faithfulness to Him. Later that week, He would tell Peter, "Satan desires to have you, to sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith fails not." He wants the fruit of faithfulness in our lives.
