Officer Erin Perotta of the Bridgeport Police Department was looking for a gun after responding to a call about a big fight. Best agreed to step out of the vehicle and be searched, but instead blasted past Perotta. She pursued on foot, joined by officer Yoon Heo. When Best made he way down an alley, he displayed the firearm that the officers had been looking for. A dangerous situation escalating and a weapon in Hand, Heo had to use lethal force to stop the threat. Now people unfamiliar with the danger and the weight of carrying a badge want to weigh in and say Best was taken down unnecessarily, and from behind, rather than admitting compliance was his safest option.
