Welcome back to the Shitshow Sisterhood!
In this episode, we’re diving deep into the messy, exhausting reality of living in survival mode and what it takes to break free of it.
After trauma, chaos, or constant stress, survival mode kicks in to keep us alive. It’s not bad, but sometimes it is necessary. But what happens when staying in survival mode becomes your entire way of life? Spoiler alert: It slowly destroys you.
In this raw and real conversation, I share my personal stories of living a life in survival mode and how it trapped emotion inside of my body. I'll also share the method that I used to finally crack open enough to start healing.
We’re talking about:
- The truth about the 4 survival responses: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn
- How stuck survival mode creates chronic anxiety, depression, and emotional burnout
- What happens when your body holds on to trapped emotions (and how it manifests physically in the body)
- Signs you’re stuck in survival mode (even if you “look fine” to the outside world)
- How to start shifting from survival to actual fucking living
If you’ve ever thought:
“Why am I still anxious when nothing’s wrong anymore?” “Why can’t I just relax?” “Why do I feel numb and exhausted all the time?” this episode is for you.
You’re not broken. You’re surviving. And you’re not alone.
