  • The Weight of Purpose: Finding the Courage to Change Direction
    May 15 2025

When was the last time you felt that unsettling disconnect between what you're doing and who you're becoming? That strange tension where everything looks right on paper, but your soul feels tired?

This episode dives deep into the sacred space of pivoting—recognizing when God is calling you to something new and finding the courage to follow. Drawing from Isaiah 43:19 ("I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it?"), we explore what it truly means to navigate leadership transitions with both faith and practical wisdom.

I share my family's unexpected journey of pivoting our entire business direction after Hurricane Helene, when my husband felt called to develop emergency communication systems for disaster response. What started with a late-night phone call from our pastor saying, "What if God has made you for such a time as this?" evolved into one of the scariest and most purposeful seasons of our lives.

The path to pivoting requires three key steps: reflecting honestly on what feels heavy or misaligned, reconnecting with your core values, and taking one small step forward in faith. But we also need to acknowledge the two companions that always join us on this journey—fear and grief. It's possible to hold both the sadness of what you're leaving behind and the excitement of where God is leading.

Whether you're questioning your current role, feeling restless in your leadership, or sensing that still, small voice calling you to something new, remember this: pivoting doesn't mean you failed. It simply means you're paying attention. What part of your life feels misaligned right now, and what's one small change that could bring you closer to the life God is calling you to lead?

  • Leading from the Inside Out: Values, Identity & the Power of Self-Awareness with Jack Cohen
    Apr 17 2025

What if the reason you feel stuck in your leadership has nothing to do with your title and everything to do with your values?

In this thoughtful and vulnerable conversation, Danita sits down with executive mentor and author Jack Cohen, a seasoned leader with over 40 years of experience in business, real estate, and leadership development. Jack’s wisdom is deeply rooted in his personal journey, and this episode offers more than practical tips—it’s a mindset shift for anyone seeking clarity, alignment, and purpose.

Together, they go beyond leadership buzzwords and get to the heart of what it really means to lead well: knowing who you are, what you stand for, and how to stay anchored when life, business, or identity feel uncertain.

Jack shares how his values—especially freedom, integrity, and radical candor—became the compass that guided his professional success and personal transformation. He shares lessons learned through decades of leading, mentoring, and navigating the complex spaces where faith, business, and identity meet.

Danita reflects on her leadership evolution and how unhealed trauma, misplaced beliefs, and striving for performance once clouded her vision—until she began redefining success from the inside out.

This isn’t just an episode about leadership. It’s an invitation to realign your life with what matters most and finally lead with peace, not pressure.

    Key Takeaways:

    • You don’t need a title to be a leader—you need clarity about what you value.
    • Self-awareness is the first step toward emotional maturity and meaningful leadership.
    • Misalignment often feels like confusion, exhaustion, or a sense of being “off.” That’s a cue to pause and reassess.
    • Leadership frameworks only work when they’re anchored in authenticity.
    • Casting a personal “intended future” can break the cycle of survival-based leadership.
    • Honest conversations—rooted in grace and radical candor—are a gift to your team and yourself.

    Episode Highlights:

    • [0:00–5:00] Meet Jack Cohen: grandfather, scuba diver, lifelong learner, and leadership mentor.
