OK to laugh at / mock those "backward Arkansans"?

I can take a joke about my rural Arkansas culture when it is funny and not just mean, but the way they laughed at/mocked THOSE- people-from-down-THERE wasn't funny and there was real disdain in it. I love my culture. There are beautiful things about it We deserve basic human dignity, and not if we change to fit in some mold made up for us. Our voices twang; we speak in idioms; and we are rural. Are you bigoted against us.
