We interviewed Edie Mukiibi, President of Slow Food International since 2022, following in the footsteps and the vision of founder Carlo Petrini.

An agronomist, educator, and passionate advocate for food justice, Edie was born into a Ugandan farming family—the same year Slow Food was founded. He’s dedicated his life to making agriculture and food culture a source of dignity and empowerment for people.

From his early work on the Slow Food Gardens in Uganda to now leading a movement spanning over 2000 local groups worldwide, Edie is reshaping the narrative around food, farming, and the future of our planet.
