Built from rammed earth and other locally sourced materials, this low-lying, thoughtfully designed structure marks the first chapter of MOWAA’s ambitious Creative Campus. It stands as both a pioneering example of sustainable architecture and a tribute to the cultural legacy of the Benin Kingdom.

Opening in May 2025, the structure is shaped by the natural beauty of the Ozarks, with its flowing curves, native stone, and dramatic brise soleil or vertical fins echoing the region’s forested terrain and karst landscapes.

    Alton Wines is quietly tucked into a natural cove just outside Walla Walla, where wave-like hills and vineyards shape the land. The site—once considered “unfarmable” due to its position and soil—offered a rare opportunity: to build something that would not disrupt the landscape, but instead belong to it. As guests arrive, the architecture guides them southward along a vine-covered arbor made of a steel frame that leads directly to the heart of the experience: a tasting room and wine garden arranged across the site from east to west.

    1211 East 11th stands at a pivotal point in East Austin, anchoring the eastern edge of the vibrant East 11th Street corridor. Located at the corner of 11th and Navasota, the project sits where the lively commercial strip gives way to quieter residential streets and the serene, tree-lined Texas State Cemetery. Designed to respond to this unique corner condition, 1211’s architecture bridges old and new with a modular exterior comprised of warm brick on the ground floor and box-rib metal siding above.

By implementing a multi-block design, what once was a string of isolated spaces became a continuous path—a civic corridor full of life.

    At the north edge of Oregon State University’s historic campus, a new landmark for innovation is taking shape. The Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex is a 143,000-square-foot facility designed to transform how OSU approaches science, research, and collaboration. The building is also making history as the first all-mass-timber experimental laboratory in the U.S. that meets a demanding 2000 MIPS vibration criterion.

    Once a powerful symbol of New York’s industrial past, the Domino Refinery has been reimagined for the 21st century. Designed by PAU Studio, the project integrates history with modernity, transforming the historic structure into a vibrant hub for work and community life. A contemporary glass-and-steel structure has been carefully nested within the original brick façade—a design concept likened to placing "a bottle in a ship."
