    In this episode, there is one constant throughout- the clear importance of loyalty, customer service and how Gordons reputation is above all else. Gordon talks through how he worked through his toughest time- having to leave GA engineering, the business that he founded and built to multimillion £ turnover. 

    We also talk about his other key interests- football, and the impact that he has had in his local community with reinvestment into children and junior football.

  • Destined For Failure with Rachel Coats

    Rachel Coats was just a normal young lady, when at the age of 26 she was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer. For anyone to be delivered this news is devastating, but for someone at such a young age with her whole life ahead of her is unthinkable. 

    Rachel talks over the initial stages of her diagnosis and what this could mean for her life moving forward. Rachel has developed the mindset of tackling her diagnosis head on and has developed an inspiring positive attitude and a new found vision of her appreciation of life. Rachel has decided to use her diagnosis to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities such as CoppaFeel and Macmillan Cancer Support. 

    Rachel has now been living with the disease for nearly 10 years, surprising some of her consultants along the way.

    An incredibly motivating story of an individual who is determined to not let her diagnosis hold her back with her aspirations in life.

  • Destined for Failure with Paul Pettigrew

    Paul Pettigrew talks to us about his upbringing, his competitive and addictive focus, which unfortunately for Paul found its way to gambling. In an honest and open conversation, Paul describes how quickly he lost control of his gambling addiction and what extreme lengths it went to. Paul soon found himself gambling hundreds of thousands of pounds and being in tens of thousands of pounds of debt. One night his addiction took its tole and Paul tried to commit suicide. Thankfully Pauls suicide attempt didn't work, however he talks deeply about that pivotal moment in his life, and his new found motivation to teach children and young people about the dangers of gambling. 

    Paul has now created Gamtalk, where he is using his own life story to educate children and youngsters about the dangers of this hidden addiction in Schools and Professional football clubs.

  • Destined for Failure with Derek Mawhinney

    Derek Mawhinney is a successful business owner and property investor from Dundee, however as a youngster he was always the kid that was told from school teachers and peers that he wouldn't amount to anything in his future. Derek suffered from dyslexia throughout his life, making the education system challenging and disengaging.

    Derek grew up in multiple houses over the years, mainly in areas of high deprivation and low socioeconomic status. Derek was raised in a single parent household with no relationship with his birth father however he had an amazing strong relationship and bond with his mother. Throughout his life, Derek fully admits to having a big chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong in their opinions of him. At the age of 19 Dereks mum passed away leaving him with few options other than to start up his own business to survive.

    In this episode, Derek talks about how he started his own roofing company and has continually invested into his non traditional education in order to be on the route to success and fulfilment. He describes the days leading up to and directly after the most pivotal part in his life- when his mother passed away at such a young age.

    Derek also talks about the strategies he's used in order to develop both himself and his business where he now manages a multi-million pound property investment fund which focuses on regeneration areas in the UK.
