  • Psalm 119 week 4 verse 36
    May 14 2025

Psalm 119:36 says, ”Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.”

We all need to escape the path/road to selfish gain and our own selfish desires. This verse is a powerful decree and a direct request for God to direct our hearts towards loving Him, His commandments and His word. Continue with me during this 8-week series on Psalm 119:33-40. Each week I will teach verse by verse and break down their meaning. Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm. It’s a hymn of praise and appreciation for God’s instruction. God not only gave His people land, but He gave them His blueprint, the Torah for living. Each section in Psalm 119 coincides with a Hebrew letter and highlights attributes of God’s instructions to His people.

The Psalmists is asking for specific guidance to live a life that aligns with God’s heart and will.
