  • All Blacks vs France - What Did We Learn? Tony Johnson Unpacks NZ's 3-0 Test Series Win
    Jul 21 2025
Longtime Sky Sport rugby commentator Tony Johnson joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, to beak down the All Blacks' 29-19 win over France in the third and final test in Hamilton, and look at the 3-0 series win for New Zealand as a whole. TJ gives coach Scott Robertson and his players a B grade, praising the rise of lock Fabian Holland and the return of utility back Jordie Barret. But, the pair flag depth concerns at halfback, hooker, and midfield. Tony is optimistic but warns fans not to get carried away - France weren’t at full strength, and bigger tests are coming. The South Africans? Still the gold standard, and another good win for them on the weekend. The British and Irish Lions? Bullies against the Wallabies, and still with another gear or two in them. TJ and Marty wrap up talking about the under 20 final between South Africa and New Zealand, which the former won 23-15. • Greg Martin: Wallabies Have 'Serious Concerns' at 9 & 10, But British & Irish Lions Are Beatable!
    Jul 18 2025
Former Wallabies fullback and Triple M breakfast host Greg Martin joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, for another wide-ranging, laugh-out-loud chat that swings from moving house chaos to serious rugby truths. Marto unpacks Wallabies concerns ahead of the first British and Irish Lions test - chiefly, their lack of a reliable first five-eighth. He’s brutally honest, saying the options at nine and 10 are "piss weak". The pair revisit the infamous David Campese pass in the deciding test of the 1989 series, with Marto - who the pass was intended for - cheekily claiming he grounded the ball before Ieuan Evans. There’s also some cheeky banter around bloated British and Irish rugby fans helping elevate the Australian economy. • Rugby Legend Nick Farr-Jones - Can Wallabies Topple British & Irish Lions in First Test?
    Jul 17 2025
Wallabies legend and 1991 Rugby World Cup-winning captain Nick Farr-Jones joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, to talk all about the test series against British and Irish Lions kicking off this weekend. Farr-Jones doesn’t mince words - Australia needs this Lions tour badly, both for morale and money. He praises coach Joe Schmidt’s impact and urges the Wallabies to play “mistake-free rugby” if they’re to match the Lions’ muscle. He reminisces about the 1989 Lions tour, defends David Campese's infamous pass to Greg Martin that didn't stick, and relives the highs of 1991World Cup glory. There’s respect for the travelling Lions army, and a warning - lose badly in Brisbane and interest could nosedive. • 'Time to Make Their Mark' - Richard Turner on All Blacks Rotated Team for 3rd France Test
    Jul 17 2025
On the DSPN, Martin Devlin and Richard 'Pod' Turner dive into the newly named All Blacks side to take on France, in the third rugby test in Hamilton. It's a heavily changed side for New Zealand, with a distinct Chiefs flavour (no surprises). Pod praises the All Blacks depth being built across the park, especially in the loose forwards and midfield. He reckons it’s a golden chance for players like Luke Jacobson, Samipeni Finau, and Quinn Tupaea to grab jerseys and make selectors sweat. Fabian Holland, named to start his third straight test, gets a special mention - Turner loves his rise and reckons he's not letting go of that jersey anytime soon. The tone? Hopeful, if slightly nervous, that cohesion won’t suffer too much with so many changes. • Philasande Sixaba: Rassie Erasmus & Tony Brown 'Transforming' South Africa's Attack, PLUS Springboks-All Blacks Rivalry
    Jul 15 2025
Philasande Sixaba - sports broadcaster for SuperSport in South Africa - joins Martin Devlin on the DSPN, to talk all things Springbok rugby after their two Italian tests, and with the Rugby Championship fast-approaching. The pair talk South African rugby's bold innovations, growing depth, and Boks assistant Tony Brown’s attacking influence. Sixaba praises the “mad genius” Rassie Erasmus for adding Brown to the coaching setup, calling it a masterstroke that has transformed South Africa’s fluidity on attack. They dissect the legality of unconventional plays like the deliberate short kickoff and in-play lineout lifting, which Sixaba defends as within the rules... for now. With combinations being tested and a player pool nearing 50-strong, Sixaba believes the Springboks are building perfectly ahead of two tests in New Zealand this year, and the next World Cup just two years away.
