On June 3, in the area of North Nevada Avenue and Jackson Street, an alleged residential burglary was reported. Forced entry was observed and several electronics were taken. Investigation is ongoing. That evening, near S. Murray Boulevard and Pikes Peak Avenue, officers responded to an alleged aggravated assault involving two adult males. Both parties sustained minor injuries and the case is under active investigation.
On June 4, in the vicinity of Union Boulevard and Vickers Drive in the Northeast, officers made an arrest following a report of alleged domestic violence. The suspect was transported to the Criminal Justice Center and the case is pending review by the District Attorney. On the same day, in the Old Colorado City neighborhood near Colorado Avenue and 21st Street, an attempted vehicle break-in was reported. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
June 5 brought a report of vandalism in the Westside neighborhood near Centennial Boulevard and Garden of the Gods Road. Several vehicles were damaged overnight; currently, no suspects have been identified. That evening, police responded to a disturbance on Dublin Boulevard and Rangewood Drive. The incident was determined to be an alleged simple assault with minor injuries. One arrest was made at the scene.
On June 6, an alleged commercial burglary was reported near Powers Boulevard and Barnes Road in a Northeast shopping center. Suspects forced entry after hours and removed several items from a business. The case remains open and under investigation. Later that evening, at S. Cascade Avenue and E. Las Vegas Street downtown, officers responded to an alleged public intoxication incident. The individual received medical care and was cited and released.
On June 7, near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and N. Union Boulevard, a report of alleged motor vehicle theft was received. The vehicle, a dark blue 2017 Honda Civic, remains missing at this time. Police are seeking public assistance to locate a person of interest described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a red hoodie and dark jeans at the time of the incident.
June 8 saw an alleged armed robbery reported in the Southgate neighborhood near Southgate Road and Venetucci Boulevard. Suspects displayed a weapon and fled the scene with cash and personal property. The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information or who witnessed a suspicious black SUV leaving the area is encouraged to contact police.
No significant patterns of violent crime or property crime increases were detected above average levels for the week. Residents are urged to report suspicious activity.
