On Body Bangin' we will be talking about all things "body"...auto body that is! I'm Micki Woods, a marketing and business growth specialist for the collision industry. On the Body Bangin' podcast we will have a fun time while talking about small and large topics with a variety of guests from around the globe. I will break things down each episode to help you leave with something tangible you can take back to your collision center and make a difference. • 4 Day Work Week at Auto Body Shops | Ep #122
    Jun 10 2025

In this value-packed episode, Micki Woods sits down with Kena Dacus, co-owner of Dacus Auto Body & Collision Repair, to uncover real-world strategies for shop owners who are ready to grow smarter, not harder in the collision repair industry.

    Here’s what you’ll learn:
✅ Insurance Headaches: Why getting paid for proper repairs (like safety inspections) feels impossible, and how Kena’s team manages the pushback.

✅ Towing Business Truths: The real cost of adding towing services, the risks you need to know, and why it’s a completely different business model from collision repair.

✅ The 4-Day Work Week Experiment: How moving to a 4-day production schedule improved efficiency, reduced burnout, and became a game-changing recruiting tool for Kena’s shop.

✅ Why Industry Involvement is Non-Negotiable: Kena shares how getting involved in industry groups, trade shows, and learning from other shop owners unlocked massive growth—and why you can’t afford to stay on the sidelines.

If you’re an independent shop owner feeling the pressure of insurer challenges, consolidation, and keeping your team happy while growing profitably—this episode is a must-listen.

  • Ep #121: Things Need to Change with Michael Giarrizzo
    Jul 16 2024

I am talking with Michael Giarrizzo, CEO/President of DCR Systems, about embracing the change of our industry. As our vehicles become more complex things NEED TO CHANGE!

Vehicles today are safety machines on wheels so what is your shop doing to make sure you are keeping those vehicles that come to you after a collision are being restored so they operate exactly like they would if they never would have gotten into an accident.

We need to start taking on the responsibility of this to create a sustainable future in our industry!
No more are the days of just checking fit and finish!

    Michael challenges shops to:
    1 – establish your why
2 – create processes that are non-negotiable (consistency)
3 – have extensive documentation (documentation before, during and after the repair including manufacturer repair procedures, videos, photos, notes, etc.)
4 – create quality control check points throughout your shop (ask your team where those QC checks should be. Utilize your team to make your business better.)

If you want to ask any questions of Michael or inquire about becoming one of his licensed shops you can email him directly at:
    mgiarrizzo@dcrsystems.net
