Because I Said So!

De: John Rosemond
  • Resumen

  • Because I Said So! is a podcast by John Rosemond. John is the nation’s leading parenting expert and provides common-sense advice for raising your children. John is a nationally syndicated columnist, author and public speaker. His audiences are left feeling empowered, educated and entertained. A family psychologist by license, John points out to all his audiences that “psychology has caused more problems than it has solved for American parents.” John’s mission is to be a counter-weight to the psychological parenting paradigm that was sold to America in the late 1960s/early 1970s, restore commonsense to the raising of children, and give parents the guidance needed to raise happy, well-mannered children who will, as adults, contribute value to culture and society.

  • Can Christianity and Psychology Be Friends?
    Nov 26 2024

Can psychology and Christianity truly coexist, or are they irreconcilable at their core? Join me as I tackle this provocative question and challenge the very foundation of what it means to be a "Christian psychologist." With a background that shifted from liberal ideologies to a firm Christian worldview, I share my unique perspective as a self-proclaimed heretic psychologist. This episode questions the compatibility of secular psychological theories with biblical principles, highlighting the philosophical nature of psychology and its often unproven claims. By scrutinizing the concept of Christian psychology, I aim to reveal the contradictions between these two worlds and suggest a re-evaluation of where we seek our truths.

  • Because I Said So
    Nov 5 2024

What if the parenting advice we've trusted for decades is actually leading us astray? On this episode of "Because I Said So," I challenge the modern parenting mantras that have become gospel since the 1960s. Born from a period of societal upheaval, these psychological theories have encouraged us to sideline the wisdom of our elders in favor of expert opinions lacking real-world experience. Join me as I share my own journey from a liberal college student to a conservative advocate for traditional parenting, exploring how this shift has impacted families, including my own, and questioning whether these expert-led paradigms have contributed more harm than good.

  • What, Exactly, Is “Good Mental Health”?
    Oct 29 2024

What if the mainstream narrative about mental health is all wrong? Join me as I challenge the conventional wisdom that conditions like depression and anxiety are biological malfunctions. In this eye-opening episode, we dig into the financial motivations behind these misconceptions and explore how emotional states can become deeply ingrained habits. Through candid conversations with psychiatrists, I reveal why understanding the origins of these emotional states might not be as crucial as recognizing them as changeable habits.

Great practical advice

I really enjoy this podcast and it’s time-proven methods for parenting (also with biblical foundations). These are things that I didn’t learn growing up but are so necessary for raising an obedient and well-adjusted (to society) child. Highly recommend this show.

Garbage

This old man, whose own children are in their 50s, is thoroughly out of touch.
