Birmingham, Alabama, is abuzz with excitement as high school football takes center stage in the Heart of Dixie. The city is gearing up to host the AHSAA Super 7 Football Championships at the state-of-the-art Protective Stadium in 2025, a decision made at the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Central Board meeting.

This isn't the first time Birmingham has welcomed the Super 7; in 2021, the championships drew a record-breaking 62,000 fans to Protective Stadium. The 2024 event also saw a strong turnout, with over 41,269 fans cheering on their favorite teams. The rotation for the upcoming years is set, with Birmingham hosting in 2025 and 2027, and Mobile’s Hancock-Whitney Stadium taking the reins in 2026 and 2028.

But the excitement isn't just about the championships; it's also about the talented young athletes who are making waves in Alabama high school football. Na'eem Offord, a standout cornerback from A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham, tops the 2025 recruit rankings. At 6'2", Offord is a force to be reckoned with on the field, and colleges are already taking notice.

Other notable recruits include Jared Smith, Chase Howard from Blount High School, and Joseph Holt, also from A.H. Parker High School. Howard, a defensive end, stands at 6'4" and weighs 235 pounds, making him a formidable presence on the defensive line. Holt, a safety, brings speed and agility to his position.

Bryson Kimbrough, a quarterback from Evergreen's Hillcrest High School, is another player to watch. With his quick reflexes and strong arm, Kimbrough is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.

As the Super 7 championships approach, the city of Birmingham is ready to welcome teams and fans from across the state. With its rich football history and passionate fan base, Birmingham is the perfect venue to celebrate the best of Alabama high school football. So mark your calendars for 2025 and get ready for some thrilling gridiron action at Protective Stadium.
