Maxim Furek’s rich background includes aspects of psychology, addictions, music journalism, and the paranormal. He has a master’s degree in communications from Bloomsburg University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Aquinas College. -Coal Region Hoodoo: Paranormal Tales from Inside the Pit has been described as “A fascinating look into Pennsylvania’s paranormal wormhole through a never-seen-before sociological and popular culture lens.”

He is a respected contributor to Fate Magazine, and Paranormal Underground, showcasing his expertise and knowledge in the field.

He was a guest speaker at the 2024 Institute for Hermetic Studies Annual Conference, where he spoke about Dr. Frederick Santee, high priest of the Coven of the Catta, and at the 2024 Baltimore FortFest, which honoured the legacy of Charles Fort.
