OXYGEN – The Breath of God and the Holy Spirit A fire cannot burn without oxygen. Even a strong flame will suffocate and die if cut off from fresh air. Sometimes, all a smoldering fire needs is a breath of wind to burst back into flame. The Holy Spirit is the breath of your spiritual life. It brings conviction, comfort, wisdom, power, and life. Without it, your spiritual fire dies. With God, you are alive, strong, and burning bright for Jesus. When you walk closely with God—breathing in His Spirit through prayer, worship, and surrender—your fire is sustained. Just like lungs need air, your soul needs the Holy Spirit’s presence daily. Fellowship fans the flame. Like coals that burn hotter together, Christian community brings accountability and encouragement. And don’t forget the blessings of God—His provision, peace, and answered prayers are oxygen to your faith. They remind you He’s near, He’s good, and He’s working.---------------------------------------------------Scriptures (NKJV):Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”Hebrews 10:24–25 "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."John 16:26---------------------------------------------------Application: • Breathe deeply—invite the Holy Spirit to fill you daily • Stay close to God through prayer, worship, and time in His presence • Surround yourself with believers who stir your fire, not smother it • Recognize blessings as oxygen—fuel that increases your faith and joy • Thank God regularly for His gifts, large and small • Don’t isolate yourself—you weren’t meant to burn alone ---------------------------------------------------7. VIGILANCE – Guard the Flame / Discernment If you leave a fire unattended, it can either burn out or burn out of control. Vigilance is required to keep it from dying or becoming dangerous. You must guard your walk with Jesus. Be vigilant in prayer, study, and spiritual discernment. Distractions, sin, or apathy can easily smother your fire.---------------------------------------------------Armor of God Connection:Ephesians 6:16 "...taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."Ephesians 6:17 "And take... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;"---------------------------------------------------8. DISCIPLINE / RE-USE THE COALS – Keep the Fire Burning Once you have those hot coals, the fire becomes easier to reignite. You don’t have to start from scratch. Add fuel and breathe life into what’s already there. Discipline is the key. Without it, spiritual laziness creeps in and lets your fire go out.Show up daily. Pray, read, worship, and stay in community. These aren’t routines—they’re kindling. They keep the ...
