032: So You Think You Have Done Nervous System Work with Sarah Kleiner

  • Resumen

  • Shelby here!

I purposely made the title of this to grab your attention!

Nervous System Work is something that has not only changed my capacity in my business but has changed my life. Tune in for this extra LONG episode with my somatic practitioner that I have been working with for over a year now and what nervous system work actually is and why you likely need it too.

Soul & Somatic Practitioner Sarah Kleiner.

Sarah is the best-selling author of Soul Nudge, and is known for deep nervous system nourishment that helps people get out of fight-or-flight, and into a place where they can feel confident, creative, grounded, and able to move forward with the things that excite them most. Clients often come to Sarah with a history of anxiety, people-pleasing, and feeling overwhelmed as a deeply sensitive empath, while also acknowledging that little voice in the back of their head that truly wants to make an impact in the world. She teaches foundational healing tools, which contain everything from trauma resolution in the nervous system to Earth-based healing practices, herbalism, guide connection, and ancestral healing. Her work is guided by training in coaching, Somatic Experiencing (SE™), shamanic journeying, Earth connection practices, herbalism, Reiki, and soul work.

I needed this deeply.

I will most likely listen to this episode at least 5 more times. I was currently in a state of intense anxiety...my husband had just left with our kids so I could shower (my go to for relief) and have some time alone to get ready and "collect" myself. After my shower, I started listening to this while getting ready. I ended up sitting in my closet for most of it because it felt specifically tailored for me and my current situation. I am either in fight or flight or shut down mode. I know I dissociate and find something to pour my energy into rather than deal with the root cause. Just yesterday, I cried at a family gathering because a circumstance made me angry but I felt like it was bad of me to be angry. I lay down at night and I feel like a hot electrical wire twitching and sparking and I beg my body to relax.

This episode gave me so much hope. I am not alone. There is work to be done but it will help build more capacity. Baby steps are what is required and I need a good coach. I cannot take my clients deeper than I am willing to go myself. And I cannot pour from an empty cup.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
