Lovvvve Jason Clarke, Shammen’s voice was just not very feminine at all. Hard to listen to her.

This is a fast passed book about second chances where you least expect it. Kat and Alex fell in love as young teenagers and it just wasn't meant to be. Fast forward 13 years and they are adults and living life but for Alex he just could never let Kat completely go. Now he finds that she is in trouble and he is determined to save her. Kat is own her own so when Alex shows up after she finds herself in danger she is first determined she doesn't need his help but those feelings from long ago are still there so she finally agrees and it will lead her to a future she didn't know she had.

Jason Clarke and Shammen McCune and so good as Alex and Kat. I love listening to Jason and he does a great job with this book. This was my first time listening to Shammen and I enjoyed her voice. She did a great job telling Kat's side of the story.

I loved listening to this book and highly recommend it.

I always enjoy my boyfriend book narrator, Jason Clarke. The story was intriguing and very hot.
I just couldn't get past the female narrative. Otherwise the story is great.

Shammen McCune's voice is in a well sound.

Let me start by saying I love this series. Now that being I liked the storyline, not my favorite of the series.
Jason’s narration was perfection (he’s one of my favorite) first time listening to Shammen it was a little difficult for me to sit through her chapters. I didn’t connect with her read, she wasn’t bad as Kat but her Alex, it was very hard not to skip a few minutes every chapter. With all that said & done I loved hearing Alex’s story.

Love this series and I love Julie Kriss!!! I’ve bought up everything she has on audible. I haven’t found a book of hers I don’t like yet. Clarke & McCune did a wonderful job. I’ve listened to a lot of books by Clarke but this was my first from McCune and I’ll be going in search of more of her work.

As for the story Alex was pretty perfect an Dominant Alpha Male who’s also tender and thoughtful. Swoon lol. Him and Cat’s chemistry was really something. Kriss got me every time she described how they just looked at it each other. What that look felt like. The only thing I wanted more resolved was Alex and Damon’s relationship. Maybe Damon has his own book in the future ???

Alex has always been mysterious, so it was really great to get to know him better. There have been references in the previous books to his disaster of a marriage and his ex-wife. Kat is a kick-ass heroine who is a loaner determine to be independent. 13 years ago they divorced in a very messy, dysfunctional, juvenile manner. Now they are older, more mature, and neither of them ever let go and moved on. Both have some very troubling family dynamics littering their past. Alex & Kat are the perfect example of the right person at the wrong time. They have some rather huge obstacles to overcome that require communication, maturity, and letting go of some long-held stubbornness.

Jason Clarke is excellent, as always! I chose this series because he is my favorite narrator and he definitely delivered in this story with that sexy growly voice we all know and love, but also the tender, sensual moments as well! Shammen is a new narrator for me, but she did an excellent job and I would definitely listen to her again. This was a tough role and she delivered.

Another great addition to the series!

Alex and Kat had a great story. Married early, and divorced soon after, Alex and Kat haven't seen one another in 13 years. Each going their separate ways and forging ahead in their lives. Alex, a successful partner in a venture capital firm w/his best friends, and Kat, a waitress working in a bar. Their lives seem fine, until fate brings them back together.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but I really loved their second chance story. Outside forces affected their short-lived marriage, but now they're more mature and have the ability to see the past for what it was. Alex and Kat have plenty heat between them, and WOW!!!

Jason Clarke is his amazing self w/his wonderful narration.

Narrators can make a good author/story hard or even impossible to listen to. I couldn’t make it past the first couple minutes. Why OH whyyyy did you have to change the female narrator with this book. May try and read it rather than listen bc I just couldn’t do the book with McCune. First time I’ve run into her and she didn’t narrate the others so I’m not sure why this one. I’ll definitely update the review if I get time to sit down and physically read it rather than listen.

LOVED the OTHER books. This one. Not so much.

In comparison to the other stories in this series I felt this one was just moving through the motions. No real high stakes or something to grab me and keep me engaged. The plot was weak and it kills me to say this because the others had tons of chemistry and really solid conflicts. The narration was good, but the writing falling flat and there not being much emotional investment in these characters their performance basically straightforward.

Had high hopes because I enjoyed the others...
