Acerca de esta escucha

"Fierce and utterly compelling"
An absolutely glorious study into how Agile and its pervasive commercialization have risen to such a toxic extent that it has poisoned the well of not just software development but all disciplines aching to be agile without a pause for some critical thinking.

According to the dictionary the term agile means: to have the “agility to move swiftly, gracefully, accurately and with quick, easy grace;”

The term Agile has become ubiquitous in the fields of Business and Industry, however, the term 'agile' in a technology context has its provenance in the Agile Manifesto that sets out a philosophy or mindset relevant to the specialized field of Software Development. The authors of the Agile Manifesto chose “agile” as an adjective for their vision of a fast-moving, nimble, and graceful approach to adapting software development techniques to meet the inevitable challenges of change. Presumably, they coined the term because agility is a concept strongly aligned with their perspective as being the best approach when developing innovative software within an uncertain world.
Agile, therefore describes the innate ability to create and respond to change. It is a way of dealing with, and ultimately not just surviving but thriving, within an uncertain and volatile environment. In short, the agile approach is about thinking through and adapting to change as software development progresses. This allows you, as a designer or developer, to comprehend what’s going on in your specific environment; identify what are the design demands, understand the risks of uncertainty or turbulence you’re facing, and then figure out how you can successfully negotiate change-shifting design, adding new features, or mitigate risk. The problem is perhaps that the well-intentioned premise has been corrupted through rampant commercialization; which has transformed the original premise into a monstrosity that is no better than a lie.
. So much misinformation has been published related to Agile over the years and persists to this day. The trouble is that much is biased, and intentionally misrepresented as it is based on self-serving but very dubious facts.
Ironically it has resulted in the proliferation of agile methods, strategies, or tactics, - think Scrum - that are anything but agile, but are being wolfishly consumed by business leaders who should by now know better.
Instead, Agile has been reinvented as some panacea for working in a changeable or volatile world, based upon false and misleading statements, which has resulted in the propagation of disingenuous so-called advantages and wholly false underpinning characteristics. Interestingly, the belief in Agile has transcended all logic or worse been consumed by Scrum, which is a pseudo-religious doctrine, leaving us all swiveling in the intoxication of contradictions, fallacies, and downright lies.
The book is all about delivering honest, independent research and diligently sourced information regarding Agile. The book is based solely on diligent research, hard-earned experience, and the expert knowledge of others, to cut through the fog of the Agile conundrum. This book will hopefully act as a flashlight in that darkness and provide you with the clarity you will need when following an agile doctrine.
Good Luck!
