Acerca de esta escucha

As stratigraphists argue over whether or not the Anthropocene is really a geologic epoch and potential starting dates for it, human civilization marches forward on a path that began 15,000 years ago during the Agricultural Revolution that has directly resulted in the reproductive success of our species and the terraformation of Earth to meet the needs of billions of humans living in metropolises the world over. We have evolved culturally and scientifically at an unprecedented rate, and it is clear from the geological record and through what we have created that the evolution of Homo sapiens is an example of excellence in biological evolution on our planet. We have become the apex mammal of every ecosystem that we have entered on the globe because of our ability to plan, communicate, and create tools, which are directly a result of our brains. This higher mental function has resulted in the extension of life as a result of modern medicine, safer environments, and better nutrition, but it has come at a cost. We are cognitively hardwired to live in relatively small tribes and form lifelong emotional bonds with other members of them, and this system of living has been eradicated in contemporary society. As a result, it has resulted in a lifelong search, both consciously and subconsciously, for membership in social groups by all humans that can't adequately be met in today's societies. This void has resulted in many psychological problems that cause everything from addiction disorders to neurodegenerative diseases that can't yet fully be explained by science. All humans living today, regardless of gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation, are unconsciously in search of a tribe that can't be found nor will it ever be, and this lack of membership is at the center of many personal and societal problems that we are facing as a species today.
