"This faithful, fearless, full-of-fun Outfit (four children and Radar, a dog who thinks he's a person) have a new cause--thwarting nasty farmer Reuben Kilchaffinch's plan to fill in Froglet Pond (the breeding site of the endangered great crested newt). He also plans to tear down the historic Kilchaffinch barn to build a house for his equally nasty son, Kenneth, and his son's fiancŽe, Prunella. No one does a better job of reading a fast-paced, funny children's book than Andy Crane, a regular from BBC children's programming. The patter of the kids and their confrontations with the mean-spirited Kilchaffinches are delivered in a natural, right-on style.
