Von Mord und Totschlag hatte der Polizist Jan Benden genug. Deshalb kam ihm die Stelle in der Ein-Mann-Polizeistation auf Pellworm gerade recht. Kurzerhand zog er mit seiner Frau Laura auf die kleine, idyllische Nordseeinsel. Doch dann sitzt eines Morgens eine Leiche auf dem Deich. Jan nimmt die Ermittlungen auf - unfreiwillig unterstützt von Tamme, einem Inselbewohner mit etwas zu viel Begeisterung für Kriminalfälle. Und auch Laura beginnt zu recherchieren. Denn, was niemand gedacht hätte: Verdächtige gibt es nicht gerade wenige auf der sonst so friedlichen Insel...
