In this chilling mystery from a New York Times bestselling author, a storm strands a group of teens in a creepy motel—leaving them trapped with a killer.

Nell has always wanted to be an actor, but doubts her ability. As a member of her school’s theater program, she prefers working backstage. On the way to a contest, an unexpected blizzard strands her acting troupe in a creepy motel. Soon they meet a group of strangers from another high school—including the mysterious and handsome Knox, who insists they play the game Two Truths and a Lie. When it’s Nell’s turn, she draws a slip of paper inked in unfamiliar handwriting:

I like to watch people die.
I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve killed.

Suddenly a night of harmless fun turns into a matter of life and death. As guests go missing, it becomes clear that a murderer is hiding in their midst ready to strike again. In a room full of liars and performers, the truth is never quite what it seems. Nell is going to have to act like her life depends on it—because it does.

it was ok, not that great. it wasn't what I was hoping for, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great.

just ok

An easy and entertaining listen but not for serious mystery or thriller seekers. Good for young teens or those looking for a quick, fun read.

Teenage drama and games

The audio made me want to read the book. I really enjoyed how the reader talked and how everything was set up

How the reader talked

Always kept me on my feet and thinking. I'm just getting back into reading and this is the first book I decided with and I'm happy I did.

Worth a read but isn't worth a re-reading. Some good plot twists but some very predictable ones as well.

Not bad, not great.

THE PLOT TWISTS AND TURNS AND ROUND ABOUTS IN THIS BOOK ARE A-MA-ZING IF YOU LIKE CRIME PODCASTS BUT YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENDS READ.APRIL.HENRY.

I LOVE THIS BOOK

First, I want to say that the problem isn’t the narrator; it’s the story. It’s far fetched and entirely predictable. There’s no character development. All of the characters are as flat as paper dolls. And, when you get to the end, the improbability of the cast of characters is laughable (once you learn each person’s story.) Finally, there are plot holes. I definitely don’t recommend this one.

Just awful

The narrator was great but the writing us mediocre. Story line is predictable, and just basically follows every single scary movie/book trope. Fine to finish but wouldn't recommend.

meh...

Trapped in a blizzard at a run down hotel, a group of high school thespians encounter a group of Robotic competitors from another school and settle in for a game of TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE.

Filled with a diverse cast of characters, I devoured April Henry’s latest ya thriller in one sitting during an ice storm, the perfect backdrop for the story. I liked that TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE included a group of friends and a group of strangers, which added to the mystery of who narrator Nell could trust as well as opened the possibility of new flirtations.

I guessed one bad guy right away, but there were enough other twists that I still had some surprises.

Mystery and thriller lovers will enjoy TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE
