Especially when a certain Vampire King has her in mind for a date and his dominant and forceful ways are sending her reignited obsession with him into overdrive.

This continuation of the Afterlife series is fantastic! We finally get to be truly introduced to Lucius and his domain. Stephanie Hudson is a remarkable talent and Kelly Burke did a great job narrating this story. Her rendition of Pip however missed the mark.

Thrilling continuation

I've read the book where the archaeologist uncovers the mystery object, then the Supernatural love interest appears ...yada dada. This is that book, but not really. Our young heroine has been hiding in her Museum Workshop and doesn't know much about herself. Her heart was broken at 17, and she never put it out there again. Consequently, she doesn't know much about men and women. oh she knows the supernatural part, Daddy being their King and all, but the complexities between a man and a woman are foreign to her.
Don't think this is some Sweet Love Story. It isn't. It is two sides (at least) trying to get & decipher a piece of antiquity. Good guys & bad guys? Maybe. May just be my team & yours. Don't know who's who yet.
The story is intriguing. The performance is quite good. The characters are interesting - gotta love Dante! But I don't trust Wendy (no reason, just don't.)
Give this series a try. I think you'll enjoy it, I certainly did!

This book seems to toddle along. The plot is hinged more on Amelia’s neuroses than any particular action. I expect book two to be better, and I’m willing to read it just to see where Lucious decides to take things and explains his earlier cruelty. I can’t say exactly what draws me into their story, but I am mostly engaged.

I have read the series, and it just gets better hearing it on audible. I love the way the voice actor speaks and expresses the characters. Good voice for a great story.

I read the book already, but I couldn’t pass up getting it in audio and I think I enjoyed it more hearing it I will go onto the next one. I think it was done very well..

For nearly all the book Kelly did pretty good, until she destroyed Pip completely!!!! DESTROYED!!!!! How could Kelly of not done any research into the franchise and learn the characters???? Rebecca Rainsford may have set the bar high but definitely not unreachable! Kelly didn't even try! Pip is immortal, so why the hell did Kelly portray her as ancient? I can only think of 1 reason. zero effort in learning the characters. you'd think with nearly a dozen books available for reference she couldn't screw up Pip completely. It's possible Kelly isn't to blame but just the scapegoat, which if true I apologize for my berating. sigh.....what an insult to our beloved author who has spent years developing Pip. Kelly, please don't record Pip if your just gonna insult her fans and her creator.

I love the Transfusion series, as I had already read the books, and I already read/listened to the Afterlife Saga too, and I know there are only 4 audiobooks out right now. I still wanted to hear how the narrator would portray the characters from the books that I had already read. It was difficult at first to get used to this portrayal of Lucius after hearing Rebecca Rainsford in the Afterlife audiobooks, but I got used to it. My problem was her portrayal of Pip. Even reading the Transfusion books, not just from listening to Afterlife, I heard Pip with a more childlike voice to go with her childlike imp heart. In this she sounds like more like an old lady, even though it being her first introduction in Amelia’s flashback near the end and Pip was sad. I did prefer Rebecca’s portrayal much better, because in my opinion, it fit much better to the character. Otherwise I did enjoy listening to this book. I do hope the audiobooks will continue on after the 4th book.

You are instantly swept away with the words created by this authors world and character built up. Definitely entertaining and with a hint of humor. I honestly recommend this book. I also enjoyed the narrator in how she brought the characters and story to life.
