The story was good overall I would have enjoyed the narrator so much more because her voice is hypnotic however I’m a truck driver and that is the last thing I need I do not want to fall asleep as calming I had to speed it up because it was slow and to relaxin I appreciate the effort and I will Give the narrator another try of course and hope for a different outcome I just cannot be listening to her and driving an 18 wheeler and fall asleep talk about disaster us

I loved this book! It was an exciting story of love, betrayal and hidden hate.

A story of a time when women are not encouraged to have opinions, men are in control of their lives and women are kept on a tight societal leash. It’s not my favorite setting for a historical fantasy romance novel.
However, I stuck with it, became interested in each character and the story picked up quickly, was unique and interesting. I went from not being sure I could go on listening, to not being able to put it down so glad I listened.
Narrator was good, but too slow for my taste. I sped up the narration speed to 1.1x and found it was much more suited to my "ear" and to the pace of the story. She did a good job with narration of the may characters; male and female.

I almost gave up, so glad I finished this!
