New author for me. One helluva start to this story! Wow the story is so good! Some romance but the overall story keeps you hooked, at least it did for me and there's this sense of a secret or something hidden. Waiting for the shoe to drop.

What a web we weave!!! This book even with a cliffhanger was worth it!!! The only thing I didn’t like was when she thinks to herself but it sounds like she says it out loud. Gets confusing. But other than that can’t wait to hear the next!!!!

Very early in the book - like chapter #1 - you will learn the female lead accidentally hurts someone and is charged with a crime. It was a little hard for me to figure out where the story was going after the set up, but it basically revolves around how the incident affects her, how she gets through the consequences, and why/how she took the brunt of the blame (and should she)? There is definately romance, but that starts later in the book. She was a teen at the time of the crime, but during most of the book she is in her 20's. There is definately mystery too; the person she hurt... why was she even there that night? Did she contribute to her own injury? If so, why? What was going on in her life?

This is a book that gets BETTER as you read it. I totally got sucked in and stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish listening, even though I had to get up at 6 for work! Because the lead is young I wasn't sure if I would like this book, thinking it might be too YA for me, but I really loved it.

The characters and their relationships are set up well - some of the missing pieces I couldn't figure out really came together at the end in a way that suprised the heck out of me, which is really rare.

For those of you who wonder if there is adult content - yes. Descriptive love-making scenes, adult language, and some violence. Love making scenes are limited and fit well with content. I would definately NOT describe this book as written around them or erotica, but there are some steamy scenes. In my opinion they are written and placed very well.

Narration is really great too.

OMG! Is was one of the best books I've heard this year, seriously!!! Heartbreaking, exciting, stressful, sexy and mysterious... it had it all!!!

I almost gave up on the book during first chapter or two, I even fast forwarded a little. I'm glad I did! this is a really interesting listen! I feel it's worth my time and am looking forward to the next book in series
